What to do or How to know if Clutch Plate Burned? | How to save clutch plate from wearing out?

Yesterday, I got my clutch plate completely destroyed. It was a bad day, I had to drag my bike for 3 hours. Finally at some mechanic tuned it so I could atleast drive to service center. Some research was done and some will be done later. You can see some videos to check how clutch plate works along with gearbox and flywheel. I list down some point to let you know how not to stress your clutch plate.

At first when clutch plate will wear out, you will get a burning smell coming out. Then you should take it to service center first instead of going further because it is still in working state not completely dead yet.

If you are twisting throttle on and RPM is increasing but bike is not picking up then it indicates some problem with clutch plates. Perhaps they are burnt or wearing out.

  • Avoid uphill rides. Just avoid them. I had a pulsar and with a pillion rider, I was twisting throttle and bike was barely moving. Sometimes later I smelled burning smoke. That day, it worked but the next ride on same hill, I had it completely burned out.
  • Find nearest mechanic, he will tune clutch settings so bike can be ridden to some miles more.
  • Do not press clutch with full accelerator on. Reduce accelerator and take clutch along side. One boy took full clutch while giving high acceleration and then heard a cranking sound.
  • Do not put pressure on clutch too much. Don't use it for getting pickup while dropping gears.
  • Avoid doing burnouts.

How to Set clock or time on Bajaj Pulsar RS200

Hi bikers, Follow below instructions to set time or clock on your pulsar RS200. This may work for NS200, RS400 etc pulsar range bikes. You have to use the M (Mode) and S (Set) buttons to do so. 1. First you need to stop the engine. You can't do this at night as you will need sufficient light to see the dial. Do it during daytime. 2. Press the mode button to select TRIP 1 mode. 3. Press the mode and set button together for more than 3-4 secs. Then the ':' in the clock will stop blinking and HH MM digits will start blinking. 4. Now if you press the mode button, the hour will chance and increment by 1 each time, and pressing the set button will have the same effect on the Minutes. 5. Once the desired time is set, press both the mode and set buttons together for 3-4 secs. This will save the settings and will exit the 'clock mode' 6. P.S: do not touch the throttle till the setting is saved as it is supposed to exit the clock from the set mode without saving th

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Mileage = 42 kmpl

Today I completed a continuous drive on my RS200 (2015 version) from my home to UP which spanned to about 446 KMs. So just to give an update on mileage, calculations are as following: Petrol used : 11 Litres, Distance covered : 446 KM, Mileage : 446/11 ~= 42 KM/Litre (I am stunned by performance), Top Speed : 131-134 Km/Hr (I was scared to lift it above this, wanted to reach safely to destination, road = Yamuna Expressway) Age of bike : 2 years 6 months Last Service : A day before this journey Cost of Trip : 800(petrol)+205(Toll) = 1005 INR
